Within the Cedar Valley Center for Expressive Arts Therapy, AriAnna Carroll, LMHC, REAT, EXAT, specializes in providing mental health services to youth/adolescents, young adults, and adult clients with specific interest in integrating expressive arts approaches into their wellness goals. Expressive arts therapy is a unique, sensory oriented, integrated approach to psychotherapy that combines invitations into visual arts, play, story, drama, drumming/music, movement/body awareness, silence, mindfulness practice, and sand tray therapy with verbal psychotherapy methods to foster growth towards therapeutic goals. Resourcing relational skills, evidence-based practice, and clinical knowledge, I support clients and families in their journey toward emotional, behavioral, and relational wellness within the safe, protective environment that is the Cedar Valley Center for Expressive Arts Therapy. Our work together is a journey of growth that is built upon strong therapeutic alliance, empathy, acceptance, and mutual respect.
Each expressive arts therapy modality is unique, and as your therapist, I strive to meet clients where they are at and consider the use of each approach I implement carefully. This is determined by clinically assessing the specific needs and readiness of the individual and/or family in therapy. Different modalities may be used at any point throughout the therapeutic process as needed.
